San Benito Elegant Boho Wedding
Priscilla and Jorge
Texas Wedding Photography
On May 18th we drove to San Benito for an elegant boho wedding for Priscilla and Jorge! I’ve been so excited for their wedding day to come and it was even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Even more than being beautiful, the amount of smiles and love for this couple was off the charts. From the flower girls to the grandmas, everyone was thrilled to be celebrating with Priscilla and Jorge!
Priscilla and Jorge have known each other since high school and this formality of joining families was a gorgeous event. They chose a venue in the valley that is a true hidden gem!
Rancho La Pergola is a colonial home nestled in the Valley of South Texas. It’s gardens, palm trees and beautiful architecture were the perfect backdrop for their summer wedding.
The carefully thought through details of the day made it appear to be a seamlessly effortless day full of casual elegance. Light pink roses, white snow globe hydrangeas and stunning lilies surrounded by greens of all shades carried the day. From Priscilla’s bouquet to the decor on the bar. Nothing was without flowers! Somehow the hydrangeas were still absolutely perfect at the end of the night, not wilting in the slightest, I think Rancho La Pergola has some magic!
While I loved the entire day capturing Priscilla and Jorge’s wedding day there were a few moments that truly stood out to me that I’d like to share with you!
First, when I was getting set up, Jorge arrived and the first thing he said was “Hey! Was your drive ok?” What?! Yes! But it’s your wedding day! Priscilla, even being so busy with wedding day thoughts, also commiserated with us in the heat and wanted to make sure we were ok too. I love working with couples that are just SO nice!
Second, EVERYONE danced. I mean, everyone. From littles in diapers to those more seasoned dancers with gray hair or no hair-everyone was on that dance floor! While I may not have been able to keep up (like at all lol) it was an amazing energy and Gricelda (my second shooter) said she’ll teach me so…theres that! Ha!
Finally, I cried. When Priscilla and her dad were dancing, I just couldn’t hold back the tears. It was the sweetest moment.
When I’m at weddings I start thinking about the weight of the memories I’m lucky enough to be capturing. I know this is legacy in the making. Generations that will someday be bygones are filling my camera and the future is smiling for it. I feel that and just get a little teary eyed sometimes. It is such an honor to be the one to do this.
Thank you, Priscilla and Jorge, for having us. And by us I mean me and my amazing second shooter, Gricelda, whom I could not have done this without!
We had a wonderful time, the cake was delish, and we are wishing you the Happily Ever After you both deserve!
